Thank you for visiting my site.
The site is aimed at helping people cope with depression. I have suffered with depression for many years and hope I can share my experiences and answer any questions you may have about the illness.
If you are just learning about the illness or have just recently been diagnosed, Please Don't Panic. It is very common and you are in really good company. Some of the best and most extraordinary people I know or know of, have suffered at some time or another.
You are not Crazy, Mad or Bonkers, just ill.
1 in 5 are likely to be affected by it at some time in their life.

Sadly the stigma attached means that considering it is so common, very few people seem to speak openly about the condition. In my experience although people seem unwilling to discuss anxiety and depression openly, when YOU choose to talk openly about it, you will be surprised how many people have been touched by it in their lives.
Most importantly I want to try to remove concern and worries that sufferers may have and make them realise that it is an ILLNESS and not a reflection on them or their character. If you make a conscious decision to TALK about it you will soon start to realise that you are in really good company.
If I have still failed to convince you, bear this in mind. The greatest ever Britain as voted for in a BBC poll in 2002, was Winston Churchill. He suffered with depression all his life, he called it 'his black dog'.
You're Not Alone see here more information on high profile people who have suffered with Depression.
